A Pastel Dream: Zara & Onkar’s Wedding Reception at Orsett Hall

This March, we had the pleasure of styling Zara and Onkar’s wedding reception at the stunning Pavilion at Orsett Hall — a light-filled space with a striking skylight that gave the whole room a natural glow. The couple wanted a soft, romantic look with a timeless edge, and their vision came to life beautifully through a blend of our Pastel Passion and English Garden ranges. From the first consultation call to the final candle being lit, this wedding was a joy to design and deliver.

The Vision: Soft, Romantic, and Refined

Zara and Onkar came to us with a clear idea: they wanted a reception that felt timeless, romantic, and softly colourful. They were drawn to a pastel palette of pinks, lilacs, whites, and lush greenery, and after reviewing our design options, they chose a combination of our Pastel Passion and English Garden ranges.

These two styles blended beautifully — Pastel Passion bringing in delicate colour tones and gentle floral shapes, and English Garden adding fullness, natural textures, and elegant structure. The combination gave us the perfect foundation to create a look that felt personal to them while still being visually cohesive. The overall look was calm, classic, and layered throughout.

The Setup: A Room of Soft Tones with a Strong Impact

For their reception-only decor, Zara and Onkar selected our Ruby Package, which included styling for the guest tables and the top table area. They added white silk drapes behind the top table and white tablecloths to give the overall styling a more luxurious, finished feel.

With 20 guest tables, we designed four different centrepiece styles — two tall, two low — to give the room visual depth. Each table felt consistent with the palette and styling, while also offering something unique. The varied heights created beautiful sightlines throughout the space and made the room feel full and dynamic.

Real candlelight was placed throughout the table decor — flickering sand candles added a romantic warmth that truly came to life as the evening light shifted.

The Showstopper: A Dreamy Top Table Display

The top table featured our golden curve arch adorned with pastel-toned silk florals that flowed seamlessly from one arch to the next. The white silk draping behind the stage gave the setup a clean, soft backdrop that helped the florals pop and framed the couple beautifully.

It was the perfect blend of soft elegance and visual impact — dramatic without being overpowering. Guests naturally gravitated to this space for photos, and it served as the visual anchor for the entire room.

From Blank Canvas to Beautiful Reception

Seeing the transformation from the Pavilion’s blank space to a fully styled wedding reception is always so satisfying — and even more so when we get to share that journey. We captured some quick before-and-after shots on the day and the difference is always a lovely reminder of how decor can completely shift the feel of a space.
